Continuing on our theme that adoption is everywhere, it turns out that Minnesota has more adoptions per capita than any other state. We’re the adoption capital of the United States!
Why is that?
Adoption scholars say the social climate makes Minnesota a prime spot for international adoption. It has a politically liberal tradition and a history of multiculturalism.
I don’t find that rationale particularly convincing, especially since Minnesota is 95% white. But nonetheless, there are a lot of adoptions happening here. Go Minnesota.
