20 Days

Stupid fact of the day: It’s taken a mere 20 days for the new U2 single, “Vertigo,” to reach the top of my Top 25 Most Played Songs playlist in iTunes. It’s sitting at the coveted number one spot with 17 plays, just beating out The Get Up Kids’ “Close to Me” with 16 plays.

I choose to credit the fact that I’m incredibly addicted to U2 and the song’s inherent catchiness and playability. I’ve been known to play the song several times in a row and not get tired of it. At this rate I’ll completely loathe the song by the time How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb comes out.

  1. It took me…not quite so long, but it was a banner day when it happened. I noticed the other day. It beat Dashboard Confessional’s “Vindicated” 65 to 55. Ironically, those are the only two songs I have that begin with the letter V. And they are both at the top.

I listen to it too much. When I first got it I listened to it all night long. Over and over and over.

  2. I’m trying to keep it fresh, so I relish every time I play it. I’ve only played it 18 times so far, but my top 10 ranges from 119 plays to 82 plays, so it’s got a long long way to go. It’s not even in the top 300.
