It was something sick like 45 degrees this afternoon when Abby got home from work, so we harnessed up the dog and went for a walk. And then I found $5.
Seriously. It was lying in a puddle in the middle of Dunlop Street (or is it Avenue? or Road? I dunno) . Slightly torn, completely soaked, but still $5.
In the past 48 hours I’ve heard the word “schadenfreude” used three different times: CMS blogger Andy Havens, philosopher Tim Yenter and the Microsoft-taunting Josh Lewis.
The German word means taking delight in the misfortune of others, and as Havens said, is best translated in the “Ha-ha!” delivered by Simpsons character Nelson Muntz. That’s your vocab lesson for the day.
Because Jordon Cooper did it and it seemed like a cool idea, who are you?

If you could take over MonkeyOuttaNowhere.com for a day what would you do?
If a TV movie based on MonkeyOuttaNowhere.com was ever made, who should play me?
I love all these doofy ‘year in review’ things people do (though it seems no one cares for mine–sniff, sniff), so in honor of Matt Bronleewe’s 2004: Personal Review (it’s a goofy frames site, so it might open all weird), I present my own year in review. Though I don’t know as many cool people as Matt Bronleewe, so don’t expect as much. Of course you could just look through the archives, but that’s not fast enough for you people, is it?
(Pardon my excitement, but it’s the first snow I’ve seen all year. I was in Green Bay when the Twin Cities received their first inch or two–all I got was rain.)
This week we head out to Vegas for my brother’s wedding. Ironically, Time magazine ran a cover story on the new Vegas last week. Forget the family-friendly atmosphere of the 1990s; the modern Vegas is all about stripper poles.
Should be an interesting place for a wedding, and a vacation. I’m hoping to check out some less kitschy places, like Red Rocks Canyon and Lake Mead.
