The Beatles can step aside; America’s largest Jesus is taking the stage. The 62-foot Jesus towers over Interstate 75 in Monroe, Ohio, a “beacon of hope and salvation” erected by the Solid Rock Church.
You never thought you’d see headlines like these:
Giant Jesus makes many stop
Most come to praise 62-foot Jesus sculpture on I-75
Six-story statue of Jesus greets drivers on I-75
And how about some others?
Biggest Jesus Ever
Volkswagen Crushed By Christ …
They spent $250,000 to build a statue of Jesus. I can think of a lot better ways to spend that money to help people (food, clothes, heck even Toys for Tots), but I suppose those things don’t get your name in the paper.
That’s why I’ve got my own, personal Jesus
(Someone to hear your prayers / Someone who cares).
Thanks Depeche Mode!

I’ve been to that church before. My guess is that the cost of the statue was a drop in the bucket to them. They do everything big. Big hair, big cars, big church. The pastors have a big farm across the highway.
If it kills someone, that’s irony right?
Hmmm, something about this story over at MonkeyOuttaNowhere smacks of idolatry. I don’t know how big we need to make our Jesuses but when it inevitably succumbs to a bad storm people are going to talk like it’s an omen….
Hope Jesus doesn’t trip and fall. Ouch
Just FYI about the “pastor” Lawrence Bishop, he’s not all he’s cracked up to be. Ask him how many horses he’s sold with falsified papers. Ask how many people he’s cheated. A Godly man he is not when it comes to business. I have proof of cheatings by him going back to the 70’s.
Never Gonna Be As Big As This Jesus
