Free Stuff on my Birthday

Tomorrow’s my birthday. I’ll be turning old. The big 2-5. The last official milestone, a drop in the car insurance and the ability to rent a car without paying outrageous fees.

Actually it’s not that big of a deal. But since I’m self employed and set my own schedule, I’m finding myself thinking of all the free stuff available on your birthday. Where can I go to get the best free stuff on my birthday? I think places like Chili’s and TGI Fridays give you free dessert, but you have to endure that damn singing. I don’t know if it’s worth that.

  1. That’s precisely why they sing.

Happy Birthday Kevin! In honor of your inquisitive nature, I will pick something I don’t normally doubt, and doubt it as much as I’m able. ;-)

  2. Congratz! I think I had some minor quarter century crisis (for the 5 seconds that grad school allowed) when I realized that I AM a quarter of a century old and that there are less of the 20’s left than there are behind. It kicked in a second time when I realized that I had moved up in a survey’s age bracket from 18-24 to 25-40. But oh, the wisdom! ;)

Oh, and I’m finally blogging again… so enjoy on your birthday, if you wish. Go get a free rental at Hollywood Video or something (they give them out on your birthday usually): I’d recommend “In America” for a serious movie, or “Once Upon A Time in the West” for a Western, jus off the top of my head. Have fun on your birthday!

  3. happy birthday man. you’re the youngest looking, most responsible acting, freshest-smelling 25 year old i know.

never shave again, but please continue to utilize that fancy shaving cream. it smells fresh.

  4. i just found this site when i typed in ‘free things on my birthday’ into google. i turn 25 today…i feel your pain. did you find any other good free stuff?

  5. Nope, no other free stuff.

And I did learn that the last milestone of age, the rumored reduction in your car insurance when you turn 25 isn’t always true. My insurance company gives the that reduction when you get married, regardless of your age.

  6. I, too, was googling for free birthday stuff and found this. These are the only things I know of:

Catfish Cabin gives you a free meal ($9.99 and under). I think that’s just a local (West TN place though)

Hollywood Video gives you a free rental on your birthday

Brusters (Ice cream) will send you a coupon for a free ice cream cone on your birthday if you register at their website (http://www.brusters.com – I think)

I found another website with a long list of places that give you free dessert, but you have to be sung to and I am just up for that… lol But if you keep googling I’m sure you will find the site.

  7. the list at forums.slickdeals.net is crap.

IHOP, Taco Bell, Lotus, and Pancho’s all need to be removed from the list. Probably some others, as well.
