Shopping

My mom bought me a couple of new cute skirts from a shop below her frame shop. Which means I have nothing to wear with the skirts so I went shopping for some tops. While I was shopping I realized that I hate trying on clothes. I’ve decided I want to be one of those rich ladies who don’t shop, they have entire stores brought to their house and everything is already made to their measurements and all that is left to do is hold them up and decide on a color.

It’s also no fun to shop when the only affordable clothes are on the clearance rack. It really limits the choices.

But even with the bad dressing room lighting and the clearance racks, I still managed to find a couple cute sweaters and several new shirts. And I only paid full price for one thing. Be happy for Labor Day sales.

A Little Story For You

About 9 years ago, when I was a freshman in college, I wore jeans that were between sizes 8-10. Then my 8’s turned into my “skinny jeans.” A few years later (okay by the end of sophmore year) my 10’s became my skinny jeans and I got rid of all my 8’s. I wasn’t too worried that I wore a size 12. And I stayed a size 12 until about a year and a half ago. Then I quickly jumped to a 14 and almost had to go up another size. But before I went up another size, I found out I was pregnant. And instead of going up a size, I moved into maternity clothes. About 3 weeks after Lexi was born, I fit back into my size 14 jeans. Then about a month later I fit into 12’s.

Tonight I went to Target and bought jeans that were a size 8.

(Just a quick note - no, I did not go on some crazy diet and I also think that the jeans may be slightly off in their size labels because every other brand of jeans I have tried on recently have been at least a 10. It’s just fun to be able to say that after 9 years and having a baby, I can wear a size 8.)

Shopping

I love shopping online. I like going to the stores and looking around for stuff, but shopping online is more fun because you get to buy something new (always fun) and as a bonus, you get a package sent to your house. Right now I am anxiously awaiting the UPS truck to bring me the Baby Bistro Box I ordered (by the way, if you need a good baby shower gift, I highly recommend it.) and in a few days I will be getting these in the mail. If you think the little rock and rolls girls are cute, you should poke around her shop - I had a hard time deciding which print to buy. I also liked Little Hedgehog Goes Fishing, Mod Record Player Girl, Record Player Gal, Salt Meet Pepper, and Tea for Two.

Clearance Day

Today is Super-Clearance-Shopping-Day. I love clearance shopping. It’s very rewarding to go to stores and finding shirts for $3 or shoes for $8. Plus, I love watching all the people who are a little obsessed with getting the best deal so they are just grabbing everything and have the look of “don’t mess with me, I’m getting those pants and if you get in my way I’ll run you over with a cart.”
