Green Bay

We went home to Green Bay this weekend. My brother graduated from high school last week and so we went back for the big shindig. It was fun to see people again. I don’t think I’ve been home since around Christmas time.

The highlight of the weekend was not the graduation party, however. The highlight was getting to see the kittens that my mom and brother rescued from a window well at our house. She found 4 kittens and with the help of my brother and his girlfriend, they nursed them back to health (well, 3 out of the 4 survived) and found them homes. Two of them were getting picked up the same weekend we were in town so we got to play with them for a couple of days. They couldn’t stand Speak at all - it was really funny to watch them around the dog. But other than fighting the dog, they were pretty cute.

Here’s a couple of pictures. The black and white one was named Kit Kat but her name is now Belle and the other one was named Mittens but since the found out it was a boy it’s name has been changed to Boomer.

Discovering that dog food tastes really good.

Getting Married…Las Vegas Style

My brother-in-law called tonight to tell us that he is getting married. And to tell us that we would need to fly out to Las Vegas for the wedding. (He and his fiance live in Detroit.) I’ve never been to Vegas, much less a Vegas wedding. When I first heard where it was, I got a picture in my head of all of us in the Explorer, the bride and groom in the front seat, waiting at the window of one of the those drive through wedding chapels for Elvis to pronouce them man and wife….doubt it’s going to happen that way.

I’m pretty excited to get to go to Vegas. Mostly just to see it. I can’t gamble (big no-no when you work for Bethel) and I’m already married, so I’m guessing there really isn’t much else to do that’s legal. I suppose I could go see the Celien Dion show but I don’t know if I could take a whole night of that….
