State Fair

September 3rd, 2006

We ate our way through the Minnesota State Fair last Thursday. We didn’t get to see too many of the animals this year (although I did walk through the Pet Center to see what dogs were on display – my favorite this year was the boxer and the akita). We tried to go to the “Miracle of Birth Building” so Lexi could see all the baby animals but they were closed by the time we got there. We did get to eat fair food, which is the main reason I go to the fair. This year we had corn dogs, popcorn chicken, french fries, a snow cone, mini donuts, corn on the cob, Sweet Martha’s Cookies and all-you-can-drink milk (2% and Chocolate). We also collected a bunch of free stuff, but this year’s give-aways were pretty sad. Mostly magnets and pencils. I did get a water bottle, a class set of rulers (yay for Bethel free-be’s), a crappy frisbee, and a really nice pair of sunglasses for Lexi.

We also had cheese curds. What’s the MN state fair without cheese curds?

Personally, I go for the fried green peppers and pickles. Nothing better.
