A Grown-Up Day
Today was one of those days when everything you do makes you feel sort of old. First off, it’s Saturday, but I’ve been up since 8 a.m. because Madeleine needed breakfast and we wanted to be out the door by a little after 9. Why did we need to be out the door by 9 you may ask? We realized that my super - cute, very fun to drive Jetta was not going to cut it as a “family” vehicle. We have a baby, two dogs and an amazing-ly huge pile of stuff that goes with us when we travel. We needed a bigger car. So we were going to the Mazda dealer to do something about that at thismorning. Now, because it’s a grown-up day, a day for being responsible, we didn’t just go in a buy a second car. Nope. We bought a car but gave them my Jetta. Well, technically we just promised them the Jetta. They don’t get to keep it until we pick up our Mazda5 on Monday. So as of Monday we will be the owners of a “family car.” (When we test drove it today, Kevin and Lexi were in the backseats and it was just me up front - talk about feeling like a soccer mom.)
Now that we are back from the dealer, Kevin is in the bathroom taking apart the sink pipes trying to fix the drain clog. And after I finish this post, I’m going to go do the dishes. Tonight will probably be a fun-filled evening of laundry.
So that’s our grown-up day.
