What I Hate:
Blogger - I hate the fact that it takes hours, sometimes days to have a comment show up on the site. I hate the fact that you have to have a blogger account in order to not be known as “annoynomous.” I hate the fact that when I tried to get a blogger account to fix the “annoynomous” situation every name I entered said that it was already in use. Okay, seriously how many people do yo think are trying to use the name “chicken head” for their account? In general, I hate blogger. I love all of the blogs that all my friends have on blogger but their commenting systems sucks royally.
Blogger has updated their commenting feature. You can now set up your Blog so that the commenting window pops up - like it does on your blog - and in addition to the “Blogger” and “Anonymous” options, there’s a new “Other” option. if you select that, you can enter in your name and web page without having a blogger account.
This is probably something the average Blogger hasn’t realized you can upgrade, because you do have to go into your settings and change how the comments are set up, but it’s very easy to do.
I don’t know if this improves how fast comments show up on a site, though. That’s really annoyed me, particularly since we host our blogs.
Yay for web developing and being able to make your own site! I agree, Abby, the comment delays are annoying. I’m glad not everyone is on blogger.
