2008 Reading List

Below is my annual reading list chronicling what I read in the past year. Seems like every year the list gets shorter, and this year was no exception. Though my reading was propelled along thanks in part to a continued sci-fi kick, reading through the entire Harry Potter series and a year-end post-apocalyptic fiction kick.

  2. You only read 20 books this year? I swear I saw you reading more than that. Although, I guess reading “Elmo’s Blanket” 4000 times doesn’t really count, does it?

  3. yeah. this was a pretty heavy year for me. but i don’t read much fiction or many bios for that matter in fact. so surprised me that i’d be writing a novel this year. lol.

  4. Kevin, that list is right up my alley! You should consider two things:

    1) subscribing to Fantasy and Science Fiction Magazine. It’s so great, pulpy and literary all at the same time.

    2) listening to the podcast Escape Pod (my favorite of last year is Edward Bear and the Very Long Walk)

The Road was an awesome book. I also discovered Gene Wolf last year. He’s dense, but great spiritual scifi.
