		<description>We use a &quot;discipline&quot; curriculum at school called Responsive Classroom. The whole thing is designed to help children become internally motivated to do well in school/life and a huge component of it is the use of appropriate praise/critism.

Personally, I like the idea of praising the effort, giving constructive critism and being specific and sincere in the way you praise a person.
